Tips To Get Rid Of Carpenter Ants.

It’s not an easy task to kill an ant and stop them from infesting. Similar to regular ants, carpenter ants also send in some reconnaissance ants that find the most suitable place for the nest to build. Once these ants have found the site, the worker ants get to work and start building their nest. If you have located these stary ants roaming around your house, these are the steps that you must follow:

How To Prevent Carpenter Ants From Coming Near Your Home

1. Locate The Nest

The first thing that every pest expert will advise you to do is loathe the nest of the ants and find where they are all coming from. Ants are attracted to sweets, so you can place a piece of candy or fruit spread and see where the ants are coming from and where they are taking the bait. But if you want to kill these ants, you can mix one tablespoon of sugar with one tablespoon of baking soda.

2. Eliminate Their Scent

Ants highly depend on the trail of pheromones they release to traverse their way back home. If you eliminate the scent of their pheromone, they won’t be able to get back to their nests. You can use vinegar, tea tree oil, essential oil and wipe down the path they have been traveling through.

3. Destroy The Nest

Once you have located the nest, you have to look for the opening in the wall or the surface and hear the rustling sound. If you can hear that, then that means the nest is present there. Now you will need some boric acid and a drill machine to pour that boric acid into the wall. You may have to repeat the process a couple of times to get completely rid of the nest.

If all the tasks mentioned above look a bit tiring and you don’t have patience, you can consult a professional to control these rapidly growing pests in your house.
